Their work is complemented by that of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) and the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). Together, we provide low-interest loans, interest-free credits and grants to developing countries for a wide array of purposes that include investments in education, health, public administration, infrastructure, financial and private sector development, agriculture and environmental and natural resource management.

Today, the GEMs Consortium published two new reports that offer deeper granularity in the analysis of private investments in emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs). These statistics on the level of credit risk are critical for mobilizing more private investment into EMDEs by helping investors better understand the risk profile of such investments. Key findings from the new reports: ??GEMs data shows that the risk of investing in emerging market firms is lower than commonly perceived. ??During global crises, default rates in emerging markets were lower than in advanced economies.
