There's something beautiful in the works at Harrison, Eisenhower, and Leesburg Elementary Schools: Solar Prairies! Over the course of three days, students get to: ?? Learn all about native plants and their many benefits ?? Make and throw seed spheres, helping plant a native prairie under their school's solar panels ??Learn how to survey their natural surroundings and identify different types of soils, plants, and animals! We're so proud to partner with Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District and Warsaw Community Schools on this very special project. We can't wait to watch these prairies grow and bloom. We had a great turnout for this year’s Farmer Breakfast! Local farmers gathered to enjoy good food, learn from expert speakers, and discuss how cover crops, no-till, and other practices can protect water resources and boost yields. Thanks to the Kosciusko and Whitley County Soil and Water Conservation Districts, Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation, and Ferguson Farms for helping make this event possible.
