This past week, Wartburg’s Adult Day Program turned up the soul and the fun with a Motown-themed Black History Month celebration! From an electrifying lip sync battle to an exciting Name That Tune challenge, the event was a joyful tribute to the power of music in bringing people together. Staff, volunteers, residents, and registrants sang, danced, and laughed, creating unforgettable moments of unity and celebration. Next up in our #WalkInMyShoes experience… Jesenia Vega ! ???? Last week she stepped out of her role as the Director of Environmental Services & Laundry and onto the frontline of the Therapeutic Recreation department in our Assisted Living Programs! ???? A day filled with transporting residents to activities, engaging in programming, assisting with pet therapy, encouraging dance parties and serving wine at happy hour! Last week I had the pleasure of being an Environmental Services Aide for the day in our Skilled Nursing Facility. No, we were not short staffed (trust me, I would not have been the first choice for coverage)…but it was important and we had fun with it! It is important to not only say we work together, but to do it, in different capacities. So proud of our leadership team at Wartburg for stepping into the shoes of our care staff over the next few weeks to see things differently, and grow as a team ?? My thanks to the entire EVS team who work so hard every day and for my boss-for-the-day Jesenia Vega for making sure I saw the good, bad and dirty for a truly memorable experience ?????????? #WalkInMyShoes #LiveYourBestLife #SeniorLiving
