That’s a wrap until next year! Thank you to the homeowners, sponsors, local businesses, volunteers (aka docents and fab committee) and all of the attendees! We hope you enjoyed the event and most importantly you supported the good work of The Warehouse NJ
关于我们
The Warehouse NJ, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports individuals and families as they transition into permanent housing following a time of crisis such as homelessness, abuse, natural disaster, or political asylum. Since 2019, TWNJ has been “helping to create a new beginning” for these individuals and families by transforming their new housing into a home with furniture and basic household items. TWNJ collects and inventories gently used furniture and household items for the sole purpose of supporting our clients. TWNJ works closely with our clients who select their own furniture from the TWNJ inventory and then TWNJ coordinates the move-in and placement to ensure that the home reflects the client’s needs and preferences. It is one thing to have a roof over your head, it is quite another to have a new mattress to sleep on, a sofa to sit on, and a table to eat at – all of which TWNJ makes possible. All TWNJ clients are based on referral from a local nonprofit; most have secured an apartment through a government-issued Section 8 housing voucher. Our partner agencies, listed below, have been supporting the clients in some capacity, but have minimal household items to offer to the clients as they transition away from their services. Community partners do not compensate TWNJ for its services, nor do they share in moving expenses.

So proud of Kim Sleeman of The Warehouse NJ for being recognized at the upcoming Bridges gala! Tremendous partnership.
Bridges is thrilled to honor Kim Sleeman of The Warehouse NJ at our 35th Anniversary Gala on April 5, 2024 at The Newark Museum of Art. One of the most rewarding partnerships that we have at Bridges is with our former Board Member and Volunteer, Kim Sleeman. Over four years ago, Kim’s desire to start her own volunteer initiative has turned into a thriving non-profit organization of its own called The Warehouse NJ. Kim saw a void in services for those who are newly housed, and knew she could help them transition into a home that was fully furnished with all the essential items they would need to succeed. Kim’s process is simple yet empowering. She receives client referrals from many area organizations, then invites the client to her warehouse where they can choose their own items. Her team of volunteers then moves everything into the home and sets it up to the client’s liking. The Warehouse NJ has moved over 1,000 people into their new homes with dignity over the last 4 years. Bridges is honored to be one of their partners! @thewarehousenjorg Tickets and Sponsorships are now on sale at bridgesoutreach.org/gala #35yearsofbridges #bridgesendshomelessness #demandingchange #thewarehousenj #essexcountynj #unioncountynjSee less —?with The Warehouse NJ.
