***2nd UPDATE*** - 21 day post-slab-placement - One week to go to 28-day cure! We are excited to share various data outputs in the form of graphs and charts that depict our datalogging efforts over this period. These visuals provide a sneak peek into our data collection during the concrete curing process. While we are not yet offering interpretations at this stage, we wanted to provide a preview of the data as logging continues. Things to watch: ·?????Strain reduction over time ·?????Strain and slab length ·?????Temperature influence In the words of the famous IBM CEO, Thomas J. Watson: “The way to succeed is to double your failure rate.” Despite some unexpected challenges, our team is making great strides. Initially, we utilized solar as a power source given our sunny Arizona location. However, we soon discovered that internal battery temperatures exceeding 110°F trigger a depowering and disconnect event, interrupting data collection. Initial efforts to cool the datalogger using a UV tent were unsuccessful. Subsequent plans suggested temperatures would not impact hard-wired power. When attempting to switch from solar to hard-wired power, we discovered the only adjacent outlet non-functional. This hiccup provided a perfect opportunity to put my structural engineering training and GC experience to the test. Check out the photos of our very fancy sun protection structure—it's as effective as it is stylish! 118 temps and no data collection interruption! UPDATE: Concrete Installation Complete! ?? Let the 28 cure begin - datalogging commenced! I am thrilled to share the exciting progress at our jobsite! Yesterday -arriving around 5am, we ensured the precise placement of our in situ sensors. By 0530, the concrete finishers and pump truck were on-site, and by 0600, four concrete trucks were staged and ready to pour MY concrete. Watching the skill and efficiency of the concrete crew and pump operator was truly awe-inspiring. Excitement is an understatement as we witnessed our plans come to life with such precision and teamwork.
