A poverty workshop was held by Ealing Council to discuss the impacts of poverty in the borough and to create positive change. The event, at Westside Young People’s Centre, was attended by around 40 people from the council, the voluntary sector and partner organisations, including Ealing Foodbank, Southall Community Alliance, and Ealing Advice Service. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive and the council is now looking at next steps to tackle poverty and better support those in need. #ReducingInequalities #EalingCouncil #CommunitySupport #PovertyAwareness #TogetherForChange

??Celebrating a sensational event?? Last night, I had the incredible opportunity to graduate from The Urban Hack program, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! I delivered a big speech, participated in interviews, and presented a pitch alongside my amazing team. It was so rewarding to showcase what we’ve worked hard on and to celebrate the journey with such a talented group of people. One of the highlights was networking with influential leaders, including governors from Ealing Council (London Borough of Ealing) and the CEO of the borough, Tony Clements. Their advice and encouragement were inspiring, and I’m excited to take these lessons forward. A huge thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this program—Simon Gough Gough Becky Lund-Harket. This is just the beginning of what I hope will be a journey filled with growth and impact! #UrbanHack #Graduation #Networking #Leadership #EalingCouncil

An inspiring evening last night hearing from the Greenford High School students who took park in The Urban Hack. We offered some training in service design. They brought energy, new thinking and their experiences growing up in Ealing to develop some fantastic propositions for how to make the borough a better place. Some of the ideas might need the council. Many will have a life of their own. It was a privilege to hear from so many assured, intelligent and committed young people. Great job too from the Ealing team in creating this platform for 30 new change makers. Rob Comber Amanda Askham Virginie Clarke Ricks Llewellyn-Davies Chris Young

?? Graduation Event ?? Last night we gathered together at Ealing Council (London Borough of Ealing) to recognise and celebrate the achievements of The Urban Hack participants who have completed the 2024 programme. We particularly wanted to highlight their innovative projects and hear directly from them about how they experienced the last few months. Safe to say we were incredibly impressed by the project pitches themselves, but also by the way that the students held the room. Special shout out to those who also shared the personal reflections on the programme. One quote stood out to us: "Regardless of what I do in the future, I know that all the skills I learned from The Urban Hack will be applicable in my life. For example, teamwork and collaboration skills will help me in any group project, and creative problem-solving techniques will be useful in tackling challenges in any field I may be involved in." At The Urban Hack we wholeheartedly believe not only in future potential of young people, but in what they already have in bucket loads: empathy, humour, social awareness and incredible team spirit (among so many other great attributes)! Thank you to Rob Comber for hosting the event and to Tony Clements and Virginie Clarke for joining us to celebrate the students' achievements. Big thanks to Chris Young and Ricks Llewellyn-Davies for your continued support with the programme and not forgetting our expert coaches Simon Gough and Mo-Ling Chui - thank you! Lastly a huge thanks to you Greenford High School for partnering with on this 2024 programme, and to Hebe Jean Westcott for your Grade A coordination.
