Celebrating a huge win for the environment! ?? All 23 ballot measures championed by TPL in the November election have officially passed! The final initiative in McHenry County, IL, was confirmed after a close vote, securing $70 million in voter-approved funds to protect drinking water, improve rivers and lakes, safeguard wildlife, enhance local forests, and provide park access for people with disabilities. There were many magical costumes at the recent Bridges Academy Community Schoolyard opening, but the true magic happened behind the scenes. Built by the local Oakland community and partners, this vibrant, climate-smart space replaces hot blacktop with natural play areas, shade, and opportunities for exploration. Together, we celebrated 500 students and 10,000 nearby residents gaining access to a green space that will strengthen community health, inspire learning, and build climate resilience for generations to come. We're at a critical juncture for the Outdoors for All Act and need your voice again. If this important legislation doesn’t pass before the current congressional session ends in just a few weeks, we’ll lose all our progress. That would mean starting over—finding sponsors and cosponsors, sending the bill through committees, getting it passed by the House—all while losing precious time for communities that urgently need access to green spaces. Thanks to advocates like you, we’ve made significant strides. But now, we face the final hurdle: getting this legislation through the Senate and to the president’s desk before the clock runs out. Chittick Elementary Community Schoolyard is officially in full swing! What was once a space covered in asphalt with little shade has been transformed into a vibrant and engaging place for students and the entire community to enjoy. Complete with lush greenery and exciting play equipment, this new schoolyard promises to be a haven of fun and safety for students while also serving as a fantastic park for the 6,000+ residents who live nearby. With support from AEW and in partnership with Boston Parks and Recreation and the local community, Chittick Elementary Community Schoolyard will help more Boston residents connect to a high-quality outdoor space close to home.
