For the past week, I've been immersed in editing a leadership book co-authored by young leaders from Kereri Girls High School, Kenya. This manuscript is set to be a rare yet resourceful collection of true-life leadership experiences of the girls. It traces the skills they've gained, challenges they've faced and pathways they've taken whenever they've been in leadership, from their early years until present. The more chapters I edit, the more this truth shines brighter: young people are sufficiently talented. Give them a chance and a safe platform and you'll be amazed how beautifully they'll express themselves. I'm still in awe of how eloquently they've told their life stories and even more, how they've done it from the heart with reverberating authenticity. It pays to be authentic. Authentic stories bless us with an unfiltered glimpse into life's realities and offers pragmatic and reliable strategies to navigate its inevitable snags. This leadership book is a life-changing initiative by The Trueness Project, championed under the visionary stewardship of M. Teresa Lawrence, JD, DHL. Now, mark your calendars! The book is set for release early next year, with a mega book launch at Kereri Girls slotted for February 2025.
