This September, TTC partnered with Design Austin to create WaterWork, an immersive projection art show on the historic Seaholm Intake Facility showcasing 15 local Austin artists. There's fresh talent on the Trail! Meet our team of Fall 2024 interns, Haneen Abdalla, Alexa Hernandez, Natalie Santander, and Jaiden Suda! These four will work alongside TTC's Marketing, Development, and Eco teams to connect, protect, and enhance the Butler Trail! ??

A PRO fit for non-profits How The Trail Conservancy uses Bitly QR Codes to build community connections "Tools like QR Codes have revolutionized our approach to messaging," said COO Hanna Morgan Cofer. "We now incorporate QR Codes into just about everything we do! All of our signs—temporary and permanent—connect back to detailed information on our website. (They) are the most effective way to communicate about our projects, ecological initiatives, trail etiquette, giving opportunities, programs, and events. They allow us to have ongoing, consistent communication with the community." If you've been on any part of the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail in downtown Austin, Texas, you'll know that TTC's use of QR Codes is comprehensive. One can't take many steps (or pedal far) without seeing signage helping visitors navigate the trail, get information about improvements, identify a tree or plant, or donate to support TTC's mission. Bitly's QR Codes help non-profits (and businesses, too), like The Trail Conservancy, make every connection count!

This morning, we celebrated the opening of a new park along the Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail. Thank you to Mayor Kirk Watson, councilmembers Zohaib "Zo" Qadri, MPA, MA, José Velásquez, and Ryan Alter, and Assistant Director of Austin Parks & Recreation Lucas Massie for joining us.? The new Trailhead, designed by dwg. features a 10,250 square-foot main lawn, a nature-based playscape, a multi-use floating dock, shaded seating areas, and enhanced lighting along pathways that connect the neighborhood to the Trail. A special thank you to the design team and contractors who brought the community’s vision for this space to life: GarzaEMC, Structures, Blackland Collaborative, Encotech, Siglo Group, Strata Landscape, Square One Consultants, Inc., Contour Collective, and James Pole Irrigation.
