On November 25th, the 4 Nordic diplomatic missions ???????????????? to Tunisia ???? organized- in cooperation with The Nordic Council of Ministers and The Nordic Council- the first edition of the Nordic-Tunisian Sustainable Business Forum at M?venpick Hotel du Lac Tunis. The event was opened by the Nordic Ambassadors including our Ambassador H.E. Mrs. Katrine From H?yer followed by a high level panel with our State Secretary for Trade and Investment Lina Gandl?se Hansen who also had the chance to hold a bilateral meeting with Mrs. Fatma Thabet Chiboub from the Ministère de l'Industrie, des Mines et de l'énergie. Over 250 guests from the private and public sectors, the diplomatic community, the media and the civil society attended the forum. Danish companies such as Novo Nordisk and Voluntās also presented their expertise during panels on circular economy and green transition. The Danish companies active in Tunisia later met with the State Secretary and the Ambassador for a business roundtable to share their experiences in the Tunisian market. The Nordic sustainability Day ended in a good atmosphere with a reception at the Swedish residence. In the light of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark’s Africa Strategy and the opening of a new Danish Embassy in Tunisia next year, we really look forward to strengthening the trade and investment ties between ????and ????. Last week, H.E Ambassador to Algeria Katrine From H?yer and her commercial team Tarik Belkhiter and Meriem Hennad accompanied a high-level Algerian delegation co-organized by the Royal Danish Embassy and the Union européenne en Algérie. The aim of the delegation was to increase visibility for the Algerian market by presenting the new regulatory framework and business opportunities in Algeria, as well as to share experiences regarding investment and trade exchanges. The delegation was composed of representatives from AAPI (Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion), Sonatrach (Oil & Gas national company), the Ministry of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and @CREA (main employers’ organization in Algeria). The program included meetings with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, the investment fund IFU, the Danish Chamber of Commerce Dansk Erhverv, and professional organizations such as Danish Agriculture and Food Council, Healthcare Denmark (Health and Pharma), State of Green Denmark (Green solutions), and Brintbranchen (Hydrogen), as well as companies such as Aller Aqua, cBrain, Topsoe, BWSC, FOSS, CIMBRIA, Arla Foods, FLSmidth, Novo Nordisk, Welltec, and MAKEEN Energy A/S. We hope that this rich and varied visit to Denmark will foster new avenues of collaboration in the near future between Algerian and Danish institutions and companies. Yesterday, the Trade Council in Egypt, in collaboration with the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW), hosted a successful webinar introducing new opportunities for Danish companies in Egypt's water and wastewater sector. ?? During the webinar, an in-depth presentation was conducted on the current market landscape, highlighting key trends and potential growth areas for Danish businesses. ?? Additionally, HCWW invited Danish companies to join the International Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Exhibition and Conference, held from December 10th-12th in Egypt, which is a prime opportunity to engage with local stakeholders in the sector. Last week, Consul General of Denmark to the UAE, Joakim Larsen and Snr Commercial Advisor, Hanane El Ghiouane, had the pleasure of meeting with @Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC) at the World Utilities Congress and Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company) with the technology experts Sebastian Berghof, Ajay Nair and Mohammed Abdul Hai from the Danish company DEIF. These meetings were aimed at fostering new relations and exploring strategic collaborations that drive sustainable development. The meeting touched upon various challenges in local and global power security and emphasized DEIF’s commitment to sustainable innovation in R&D and the journey towards being a comprehensive system provider We are grateful to ADDC and Masdar for their forward-thinking approach and openness to collaboration. This week, Danish Foreign Minister Lars L?kke Rasmussen concluded a historical visit to Egypt with a series of bilateral meetings with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, and the Arab League. The focus was on strengthening cooperation in security, trade, green transition, innovation, and economic growth. Following Denmark’s new Africa strategy, which positions Egypt as a key regional hub, the visit highlighted opportunities for Danish businesses in the region. The minister also met with Danish companies to discuss market prospects and visited Sinai to review humanitarian efforts with the Egyptian Red Crescent and the UN. ??
