Pluto has applied for the position of Town Manager in Shelburne but has unfortunately learned the position is already filled, he has accepted the role of “best spotted boy in the office” instead. His salary is confidential but I’ve been told by sources it includes pats, treats from coworkers, and photo ops.

Happy Graduation to all who are finishing this spring! I am so happy to be finished with my Master of Public Administration and Nonprofit Studies today as I am on to my next great adventure in Shelburne, Vermont! I will be joining Matthew Lawless and his team as their Management Fellow under the ICMA - International City/County Management Association Local Government Management Fellowship. Town Manager Matt’s 124 words in 2024: April 10 Thanks to everyone who made Shelburne’s Eclipse Day magical! I visited local businesses and saw busy crowds and successful events all over town. We enjoyed strong tourism from southern Vermont and around the US –I saw license plates from Colorado and New Mexico! Distinctive products such as Fiddlehead’s Beer of Totality sold very well. There were no public safety emergencies or infrastructure failures, and Shelburne’s staff performed admirably. The Town’s community event with the Athletic Club felt flawless, with Pierson Library staff in the lead for organizing. The Vermont Treasurer had published a forecast, “Vermont can expect a significant influx of economic activity ranging from $12.9 million to $51.8 million.” I look forward to learning more about local economic impacts and sharing lessons learned.
