Hiring the right people can make or break your practice. Think about it: A new graduate with a Finance degree might be best poised to help you with your Excel spreadsheets and performance numbers. But they're not going to drive the relationship with your clients. Not at this stage, anyway. That part of their skillset isn't there yet. But they can help monitor the factual things. Play to their strengths. Meet them where they're at. Everyone has gifts, talents, and skills. Remember that as you start to grow your team in 2025 and beyond. --- This clip is from our latest podcast episode. Catch the full 30-min convo with Tyson Ray, CFP?, CExP?, CIMA? & Kim Cochenour. Do you think of ?????????????????????? as the life your clients are living, or as how their portfolios did last month? If it's the latter: Do you also find yourself getting defensive when a client asks about how their portfolio performed in the last 60 days? There's a better way. Because honestly, comparison is the thief of joy. Stop trying to prove your value as an advisor with how well / or not the markets are doing. You're putting yourself up against the markets by doing that. → Instead, make this shift: Have discussions with your clients about how they're doing regarding the milestones they want to get to or do with the income they've saved or earned. Prove your value this way instead. --- This clip is from our latest podcast episode. Catch the full 30-min convo with Tyson & Kim! I took a 6-mo break to rethink our processes at FORM Wealth Advisors. There was a time back in the 2000s. I realized our new clients were getting our best services. And our long-time clients? Well, they were getting the same old we’d always done. I knew it was time for a change. It took about 6 months to rethink and retool our processes. And now, they're set up so every client gets the same experience. (no matter how long they’ve been with us) Have you ever been in a situation like this?

Stop sharing performance reports during annual reviews. They don't spark conversations about your clients' real concerns or needs. And clients often relate better to meaningful smaller amounts than to abstract millions. ??Try this instead: Ditch the performance reports, and Use annual review meetings to ask about things that matter to your clients. ??Ask about their health and healthcare ??Ask about their next vehicle purchase ??Ask about gifting for this holiday season ??Ask about upcoming home improvement projects Those are all things you can help them plan for. Help guide them in the decision-making process. What else would you add?

Money is personal. And that's why annual reviews should be more than just a financial review. They should focus on the bigger picture: Your client's life. Because these 2 things are intrinsically connected: ??What's going on in their life ??What's going on in their finances Revisit what you think you know about your clients, and you’ll be surprised by what you learn. P.S. Don’t fall into the trap of familiarity bias! --- This clip is from our latest podcast episode. Catch the full 30-min convo with Tyson & Kim ?? Advisors, performance is not where your value add lies. Because you cannot control the markets. Your value add lies within things you CAN control. Like timing your clients' needs. This can look like: Using your annual review meetings to understand what your client needs funded in the next 6-24 months so you can proactively set aside funds. Ask questions like: Are you still planning on buying a new vehicle next spring to replace the GMC? What does your upcoming travel look like?? Still thinking of going on that cruise with your sister in July? = Your clients want more than just numbers. Stop focusing solely on performance during annual reviews. Your value add lies within things you can control. Hear more on how to shift your mindset And rethink your annual review approach New podcast episode just launched ?? Link to listen in the comments?
