关于我们
The TEAK Fellowship believes that motivation and potential, not economic circumstances, should determine a student’s future. TEAK unlocks access to outstanding education and transformative experiences for exceptional NYC students, who use these opportunities to change their lives and the world around them. TEAK is a free program that helps talented students from low-income families achieve their potential. Through intensive after school and summer classes, TEAK prepares middle school students to get into the nation’s most selective high schools and colleges. TEAK’s strong support system ensures that students thrive in their independent (day and boarding) high schools and graduate from college, ready to pursue their professional goals and positively impact the world.

We had an unforgettable evening at The TEAK Fellowship 2024 Gala, celebrating inspirational change makers and our incredible TEAK Fellows! Over 700 friends and supporters gathered to honor the legacy of TEAK's former board chair Marc Becker and recognize Wendy and Scott Kleinman as Inaugural Honorees for the Marc E. Becker Leadership and Service Award. Chosen for their grit, resilience, leadership, and generosity, Wendy and Scott embody Marc's many amazing qualities and values that we seek to instill in our TEAK Fellows. Thank you, Wendy and Scott, for your distinguished leadership, service, and commitment to others. The evening featured a show stopping Shakespeare performance from TEAK Fellows, a beautiful musical piece performed by 9th grader Manu Betances (Class 25), and a Fireside Chat with TEAK's Founder Justine Stamen Arrillaga and Fellows representing the 10-year journey of our program. Special thanks to our amazing Master of Ceremonies Brad Weekes, TEAK Alumni Class 10 (Saint Ann's, Brown University). We are grateful to everyone who generously supported and attended the gala, which helps ensure TEAK Fellows can continue to use their opportunities to change their lives and the world around them.?We hope you will consider ways to volunteer, get involved, and invest in TEAK to help us continue toward our mission of transforming lives and lifting communities. https://lnkd.in/ezeVJUkm

Our Class 23 Fellows are participating in TEAK’s 6-week Summer Of Service (SOS), an immersive volunteer experience at NYC-based nonprofits and community based organizations. SOS engages students as civic-minded leaders in their communities and is required for all rising 10th grade Fellows. We’re fortunate to be working with 10 amazing community partners this year: Association to Benefit Children (ABC), The Battery, New York Botanical Garden, Carter Burden Network, LSA Family Health Service, New York Common Pantry, Chashama, The Clemente Soto Velez Cultural & Educational Center, Kingsbridge Heights Community Center, and play:ground. TEAK’s Summer of Service program was established in 2002 for Fellows to engage in volunteerism in their home and communities.
