Sustainable Products for a Sustainable Planet

关于我们

The Sustainability Consortium (TSC) is a global non-profit organization transforming the consumer goods industry to deliver more sustainable consumer products. We work to enable a world where people can lead fulfilled lives in a way that decouples their impacts on people and the planet. Our members and partners include manufacturers, retailers, suppliers, service providers, NGOs, civil society organizations, governmental agencies and academics. TSC convenes our diverse stakeholders to work collaboratively to build science-based decision tools and solutions that address sustainability issues that are materially important throughout a product’s supply chain and lifecycle. TSC also offers a portfolio of services to help drive effective improvement and implementation. Formed in 2009, TSC is headquartered at Arizona State University and has a European office at Wageningen University and Research in the Netherlands. • ?? JUST LAUNCHED: 2030 Global Forest Vision: Priority actions for governments in 2025 ?? Nearly four years ago, 140 governments signed a pledge to save the world’s forests by 2030 – yet forest loss and degradation have only intensified since then. With COP30 on the horizon, governments must arrive in Belém having shown real action on forests. Released today under the 2030 Global Forest Vision, a new and urgent call-to-action lays out critical steps governments must take in 2025 to turn the tide ahead of the climate summit in Brazil this November: 1?? Rally around forest goals with renewed ambition, integrating them in national climate and biodiversity plans and in upcoming conference outcomes 2?? Partner to promote legal and deforestation-, conversion-, degradation-free trade 3?? Significantly scale up financial support for forests 4?? Secure the land rights and support the self-determination of Indigenous and Afro-descendent peoples and local communities, including through scaling up finance 5?? Issue comprehensive supervisory expectations for financial institutions to address forest risks 6?? Identify and repurpose subsidies that harm forests and ecosystems, directing them toward a sustainable food systems transformation, a bioeconomy transition, and sustainable forest management 7?? Strengthen governance in the land-use sector, including legal frameworks, law enforcement, transparency, and accountability 8?? Address the vicious cycle of debt and increase fiscal flexibility in multilateral development finance ?? Read the full report: https://lnkd.in/dSrx2y5Q
