SFAA and the National Association of Surety Bond Producers led a Legislative Fly-In with members from across the industry to educate Congress on the value of construction surety bonds and advocate for key legislative priorities, including expanding support for the bipartisan Water Infrastructure Subcontractor and Taxpayer Protection Act (S.570 / H.R.1285).

It was a pleasure to represent Arch Insurance Group Inc. at the The Surety & Fidelity Association of America (SFAA) and National Association of Surety Bond Producers Legislative Fly In in Washington, DC this past week. With the team, comprised of myself, Katherine McFadden, Esq., Jay G., James Gorman, and Brea Sinnott, we visited with the offices of Senator John Fetterman, Mary Gay Scanlon, and Dwight Evans to seek support for The Water Infrastructure Subcontractor & Taxpayer Protection Act (HR 1285 and S 570). We also heard presentations from Former Congressman and US Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and Majority Staff Director for the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Jay Ruddy and attended a Reception for Representatives Mike Bost (R-IL) and Chris Pappas (D-NH) who support the legislation.

It was great to see Chris Nolan and Zurich North America at yesterday's Legislative Fly-In as they and other SFAA members met with legislators to discuss industry priorities.

Exciting and busy day yesterday in Washington, D.C. as our Virginia delegation of Courtney DeCroes, Matthew Pilconis, Cody Brugos, Michael Keimig, Sarah Lever, Eric Stevens, and myself walked the halls of Congress as part of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers and The Surety & Fidelity Association of America (SFAA) legislative fly-in to gather support for the surety industry, educate on the importance and proven protections of surety bonds, and ask Senator Kaine, Senator Warner, and Congressmen Connolly to co-sponsor the bipartisan legislation of H.R. 1285 / S.570 to modernize the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act to require payment and performance bonding protections on P3 projects. #sfaaflyin2025 #nasbpflyin #nasbpadvocacy
