We are keeping our leaders and team members who live in the Asheville and surrounding area on our hearts. ?? ?? Our business is 100% online. Without the internet, we’d be worried, but not afraid. Without our home, town, businesses… I can’t imagine. So many people have lost so much in the past weeks. Clean up has begun and help is arriving, but it is going to take time. ???? Without the internet, we are fortunate - we have built an agency that spans the US. When we can’t work at least we have agents who are keeping our business going. ?? Today we are GRATEFUL for all of our agents who keep our agency thriving - even during times of disaster. We are contributing and assisting those who have lost so much. And as soon as our agents who were impacted by the storms have internet access, they can get back to work and back to earning. In the meantime, those who have agents on their team are still getting deposits. It’s comforting to know. We are all working hard to keep that income flowing. ?? We know that some people have lost jobs - and they might be out of work for a long time. Towns, shops, businesses will take time to rebuild. That’s time out of work. That’s stress. If we can help - once you have the internet & a computer - we can offer you part time work to help you get back on your feet. Our agents are all over the country helping families everyday. When “life” happens, business still goes, no matter what. Even if a storm takes out an entire state. ?? In our line of business, life insurance, we get the spread between our contract level and the contract level of our agent. We call this an override.This comes directly from the carrier, like Mutual of Omaha or Foresters. So even when we are not working, our income continues. We operate as a team. We are a family. The business keeps going whether we’re hit by a natural disaster, we go home to help our friends/family, or we take our children on vacation. The agency never stops. While our agents hit hardest by the storm begin to rebuild, we are here to help them as best we can. ??

A mutual friend with a new dog brought Stephen and Katie together. Stephen had headed to his friend’s house to meet the new furry member of the family, and when he got there, he saw Katie playing with dog in the backyard. “Katie was so outgoing,” says Stephen. “She was the nicest person you’ll ever meet.” That first meeting led to beach outings and concerts, and over time to getting married and thinking about starting a family. It was Katie who suggested they get life insurance. Stephen admits he wasn’t too happy about the idea. They were young and healthy, so he didn’t see the point. Katie, however, convinced him to sit down with insurance professional Rose Goheen, who walked them through the process and presented them with affordable options. They both decided to get life insurance coverage. When the couple welcomed Chase, they decided to reevaluate their life insurance. Given their expanding family and responsibilities, they both bought additional life insurance. It was during her recovery from giving birth to Reid that Katie realized something was wrong. Her doctor confirmed her suspicion that the abdominal lump she felt was something much more serious. In fact, it was an aggressive form of cancer. Katie, with the love and support of her family, valiantly fought the disease, but just over a year later it claimed this young mom’s life. She was just 30. No words can capture the devastation that Stephen and his boys felt at Katie’s loss. “It’s horrible to lose your soul mate and best friend,” he says. “But I have two boys to support, and I want them to know their dad can carry on.” Life insurance has helped with that process. “Nothing can bring Katie back, but having life insurance meant we didn’t lose everything,” he says. “I don’t earn enough alone to afford living in our house. Life insurance has eased my financial worries on so many levels.” Thinking back to that first meeting with Rose, Stephen says: “Katie was the smarter one. She knew to plan for the future “our future“ with life insurance.”

Our stories continue - introducing the one and only Steve Bender. After an almost 30-year career in advertising and marketing, mostly in NYC, Steve joined us at the end of 2020. Among the highlights of his journey so far: Seasoned New Agent, the first recipient of the Jim Del Negro 2021 Servant Leadership Award (something Steve is most proud of), and most recently Team Leader. Steve is proud to be part of the Chung Base Shop Leadership/Mentoring team and has helped lead the Summers Live Mentored Training program. Steve is working towards Agency Ownership and will not slow down until he can achieve that financial and time freedom we are all striving for. As Steve, our current #1 on the leaderboards put it, "I am at my final stop and cannot imagine every doing anything else.....I have found my home". We are so very glad he is here!

As we emerge from the wreckage of Hurricane Helene, our priority is the safety and care of our Western North Carolina community, Quility employees, and agents. Many people have been displaced and need additional support.
