ANNOUNCEMENT Wednesday, October 30, 2024 The Speakeasy Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to wind down following a raise in rent. The Speakeasy business model is unable to sustain the substantial increase while honoring its nonprofit mission and commitment to be accessible to all by lowering barriers to entrepreneurship. This decision was not made in haste. Speakeasy leadership relentlessly pursued every lead and partnership possible to continue the legacy of collaboration and innovation through low-cost coworking and entrepreneurial programming. Ultimately, the board realized that while The Speakeasy made massive contributions to the foundation of today's thriving entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, it must pass the baton to the next generation of disruptors, entrepreneurial support organizations, and coworking spaces. On November 12 from 5 PM to 7 PM, The Speakeasy is "putting the band back together" for a "Last Call to Rock!" celebration. There will be food, drink, and the opportunity to own a piece of The Speakeasy. Most importantly, we are excited for the opportunity to connect and share what this community has meant to us all.
