The Space Elevator Foundation

One of the biggest problems – if not the biggest problem – facing humanity today is the progressive catastrophic failure of the planet. In the event where humanity hits a tipping point it cannot come back from, there is no viable solution for a mass exodus from Earth. That’s where the space elevator comes in. However, let’s say humanity is able to reverse the impact of climate change (which we absolutely hope happens). Even then, space exploration is currently profoundly expensive and very dangerous because of the emphasis on rocketry. A space elevator would unlock access to space for pennies on the dollar in a safe, sustainable way. The Space Elevator Foundation’s purpose is to fund the ongoing research around the task of unlocking space in a safe, economical and mass-available way – without the use of rockets.
