?? Honored to Have Spoken at the Florida CS Education Summit 2024! ?? It was a privilege to share insights and engage with thought leaders, educators, and policymakers at this year’s summit as we discussed the state of computer science education in Florida. ????? This year has been a significant one for CS education in Florida: >Two companion bills (HB 484 and SB 1344), which sought to create an AI taskforce and develop a statewide CS plan, unfortunately failed. >However, there was a historic win with an additional $10 million in funding for computer science education—since 2019, Florida has invested $60 million, the largest investment in the country! ???? >Additionally, HB 1361 passed, ushering in the use of AI platforms to support individualized learning, close achievement gaps, and empower parents with greater access to their child’s education.
