?? The BBC's expert for social was back on the TV this morning! ??? Our Co-CEO, Linn Frost, popped up on BBC Business News this morning from London, sharing her expert insights discussing Ofcom's latest findings and thoughts around banning social for young people. For those that can catch it on iPlayer there is a link in the comments but if not, here are our key takeaways: ???Banning social media for under-16s is not the solution.?Instead, we must focus on making these platforms safer for all users while embracing the positive aspects they offer; connection, education, inspiration, and a platform for young voices. ?? It's crucial to?support Ofcom?by ensuring they have the resources needed to drive meaningful change. ?? Social platforms?have the funds and tools to do better! They must take responsibility and put safety at the heart of everything they do. ?? Collaboration with young people is vital. By empowering them to safely navigate digital spaces, we can shape a brighter, more secure social/digital future. ?? Brands have an incredible opportunity to lead with purpose and make a positive impact through their content and presence on social media. At Social Element, we are proud to work with?responsible brands?committed to following best practices. What’s the Purpose of Purpose? In today’s dynamic world, purpose isn’t just a buzzword—it’s the heartbeat of any organisation. ? At our roundtable dinner last week, Pete Markey, CMO of Boots UK and ISBA President, posed a thought-provoking question: ? Do you really have a brand until you live your purpose? ? Here are five powerful takeaways from our discussion: ? ? Be authentic: Purpose must align with your business and industry. ? Empower your people: Great ideas can come from anywhere—nurture them. ? Think long-term: Purpose is a commitment, not a one-off campaign. ? Flip the narrative: Challenge brands on DE&I and sustainability, even when it’s not asked. ? Inspire your team: Purpose drives pride, attracts talent, and fuels retention. ? Click the link below to explore more insights from this powerful discussion: ? https://lnkd.in/eXwt4jM6 ?
