This fall was a huge growth point for our PeeWee programming. Over eight weeks of play, we had an average of two dozen players join us on the field, making it our largest PeeWee program to date! We also supported the launch of the new citywide initiative, Boston Plays: Soccer, by offering our experiential knowledge and guidance. The City of Boston and the Office of Early Childhood is working with other partner programs to increase free, introductory soccer programming for youth ages 3 - 6. We are honored and excited to support this initiative.?
关于我们
OUR MISSION: Soccer Unity Project reimagines the power of soccer to build community, connect people from diverse backgrounds, and promote equity in youth play. OUR COMMITMENTS: YOUTH - Equitable play that fosters a love of the game and elevates urban play COMMUNITY - Spaces intentional in driving inclusion and empathy to build community BUSINESS - Team building through sport and corporate social responsibility OUR HISTORY Launched in 2022, Soccer Unity Project grew from over 14 years of equitable, inclusive and successful soccer programs and events in the City of Boston. Soccer Unity Project was created from a two-year strategic planning process that identified the incredible potential of joining South End Soccer, Boston Unity Cup, and additional programming in order to deepen the impact of soccer. We see soccer as a powerful tool that can be used to bring together our global city and shift our history of inequity, polarization, disconnection and bias across race, ethnicity, age, income, and industry. For our youth programs, we believe every child should have the opportunity to engage in sport. We work to change the culture of youth soccer from a pay-to-play model with a history of systematic racism and gender inequality to one that welcomes and develops urban youth regardless of background or experience. Our methodology utilizes the soccer pitch as a "hub" of connection, intersection, inclusion, and community building.

#BehindTheScenes: Our staff has been hard at work preparing our largest mailing of the year, the annual appeal. While it’s easy to get overwhelmed by asks during the giving season, we hope that you’ll kindly take a moment to read through our appeal when it appears on the kitchen table. Just think about how many paper cuts went into it! Your support will help to provide over 1,400 youth with access to free play in 2025. Donate today to invest in a healthier, more connected city: https://lnkd.in/ejAGPKxy

This fall, we launched Boston’s first Unified Soccer team in partnership with Special Olympics Massachusetts. Team 617 Unified ended their season on a high note after walking away from the Soccer State Tournament with gold medals! Most of the athletes were new to the sport, but they embraced the challenge, and everyone scored a goal by the end of the season. Unified Sports is driving inclusion within the game, and through the game. Alongside Special Olympics, we’re proud to create the space for understanding and belonging to bloom. cc: Isabel Ospina

Shout out to Miles McKinley, currently coaching our Boys Grade 8 team, for achieving his D coaching license. What an impressive accomplishment!
I’m thrilled to earn my National D coaching license with U.S. Soccer Federation! Over the past year I’ve had the opportunity to coach multiple youth teams with Soccer Unity Project in the south end of Boston. This incredible program helps to provide completely free soccer to players in the city and also helps to support new coaches. Thank you to Caroline Foscato and Phi Nguyen for the opportunity to start my coaching career here and to be involved with changing the soccer landscape in our city. I’ve also had the privilege this past year of working as a player development coach with the New England Revolution academy. This has been an incredible experience to gain experience as a coach across multiple age groups and communities in the New England area. To work for the local MLS club that I grew up supporting has been extremely rewarding and I’m excited for the spring season. I’m looking forward to continuing my coaching career and giving back to the sport that has given me so much!

A worthwhile watch from WCVB Channel 5 on the power of soccer and finding belonging on the pitch. New to the city and new to the Boston Unity Cup, members of Team Guinea and Team Afghanistan courageously shared their stories and their love of the game with the community.

On Friday, we hosted our fourth annual Swings for Unity Golf Tournament. We were graced with beautiful weather, and an even better group of golfers. We are proud to announce that we raised over $35,000 to support our free youth soccer programs, making this our most successful tournament yet! A huge thank you to our sponsors and partners, to our Host Committee & to Representative Aaron Michlewitz, who was honored at the event for his continued commitment to build equity in youth sport. DICK’S House of Sport teammates and I had an incredible day at the 4th Annual Swings for Unity golf tournament in benefit of Soccer Unity Project’s free soccer programs, which activate play for over 1,400 Boston youth. The tournament brings together a passionate group of community members, corporate partners, and supporters to raise funds for Soccer Unity Project. It was truly an honor to be a member of the Host Committee and DICK’S House of Sport, Boston a proud sponsor. A fun and meaningful day to support my wonderful community partner Caroline Foscato and her organization. #dsglife #dsgteammates
