“Smiles for Ukraine: Creating a Healthier World Together" initiative aims to make cleft lip and palate treatment a national priority in Ukraine, while fostering collaboration across the healthcare sector. By bringing together speech therapists, psychologists, orthodontists, and surgeons, the initiative focuses on a multidisciplinary approach to ensure the best possible outcomes for children in need. Through programs like speech therapy camps and artistic rehabilitation, we are witnessing how comprehensive care improves both the physical and emotional well-being of children. 40 nurse anesthesia providers recently attended a capnography workshop in Cambodia. Following the training, 25 Smile Train-Lifebox Capnographs were distributed to participants. Though Capnography has been mandated in high income countries for 30+ years, it remains nearly entirely absent across low-resource setting operating rooms. It costs $1,000 to donate a Smile Train-Lifebox Capnograph to an anesthesia provider in need.
