Veterans Day Spotlight: Deonte Hill This Veterans Day, we’re proud to highlight our team member, Deonte Hill, who served 4 years in the Navy right out of high school to see the world. During his service, Deonte was stationed in Japan and traveled to countries like Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, and Guam. As an Operations Specialist, he was responsible for overseeing radar operations and maintaining the network systems aboard the ships. His service included long stints on the water—six months at sea and three months on land—making the transition from military life to civilian life one of his biggest challenges. Now, Deonte has been with us at Slate for two years as our Night Auditor. His first job in hospitality, he’s found a new passion for the industry and loves the work he does. We thank Deonte for his service and his continued dedication to our team!

Purple butterflies fluttered through the dimly lit rooms, their wings shimmering like a thousand tiny stars, while a pumpkin dressed as a margarita sat proudly on the counter, its carved smile gleaming. “I’m here to steal the show!” it declared, swaying with glee. In a dark corner, a duo of bumbling burglars, cloaked in tattered capes, plotted their next mischief. “Let’s swipe some candy!” one whispered, eyes glinting. But instead of fright, their antics drew laughter, turning the room into a merry spectacle. As the clock struck midnight, the costume contest commenced, and the pumpkin’s vibrant glow captured everyone’s hearts. “And the winner is… our fabulous margarita pumpkin!” the judges announced, as cheers echoed through the haunted halls.
