Every person's skin cancer experience will be different. However, when checking your skin for a possible basal cell carcinoma, here are five warning signs to keep in mind. Frequently, two or more of these warning signs and symptoms are apparent in a BCC tumor. 1. An open sore that does not heal. 2. A shiny bump or nodule. 3. A reddish patch or irritated area. 4. A scar-like area that is flat white, yellow or waxy in color. 5. A small pink growth with a slightly raised, rolled edge and a crusted indentation in the center. If you see anything new, changing or unusual on your skin, see a dermatologist as soon as possible.
