30 days into #Ruck and what a whirlwind it has been. Coming into an early stage startup with established teams, processes and technology has been a whole new challenge. I am grateful and excited for the opportunity to lead a group that is attempting to modernize a traditionally technology adverse and ignored industry. One of the things that has helped prepare me for this new challenge is the wonderful startup community that is starting to take hold here in Arizona. With that in mind, I wanted to highlight some of the people and organizations that have been inspirational and impactful to me lately: ?? Silicon Oasis - I'll be joining Kyle Macdonald and the team as an ambassador. We will be hosting monthly coffee clubs, poker nights, and recreational activities to provide founders fun ways to connect outside of work and traditional networking events ?? Arizona Nerd Netork – Don Fotsch and the AZNN crew have been impressive in their efforts to bring together all the nerds and builders in the valley. I'm always meeting new and interesting people at the monthly meetups (1st Saturday of every month) ?? Mighty Founders – Anthony Ronga is helping early-stage founders figure out how to raise money, expand their communities, and learn from other founders. He is a master storyteller and brings together a diverse group of people for amazing conversations ?? PHX FWD – Clate Mask and Gregg Scoresby are building a cool space for software builders to connect. Their monthly networking events, workshops, and pitch practice are some of the most insightful activities in the valley ?? Freeway – Freeway and Daniela Santangelo are helping cultivate a collaborative environment by connecting founders and communities within the Arizona startup ecosystem ?? Special shoutout to Mat Sherman who has been instrumental in my efforts to form connections within the broader startup ecosystem What I like most is that all of these communities are led by people who’ve been in the trenches. Founders helping other founders. Builders creating space for other builders. If you're working on something in Arizona, you don’t have to do it alone. There are people here who get it --- they’re showing up and they're down to help. Let's build something great together! ????
