Speaking at an event to honor the 15th anniversary of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act on November 19, Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke made reference to the continued specific threat faced by Sikh individuals and organizations.

The Sikh Coalition joins allies across the civil rights ecosystem in being?disturbed by the passage of H.R. 9495 in the House of Representatives.??https://lnkd.in/gQawPKUH This bill, which would allow the Treasury Secretary to "unilaterally strip a nonprofit of its status if deemed a 'terrorism-supporting' organization" could be used to chill advocacy or punish an administration's political opponents. We urge the Senate to block its path forward.
