Do Clients Get What They Pay For? In the last several years, I have taken a consumer protection stance in the advertising I have put out. I believe my defense practice gives me a better perspective from which to gauge the personal injury industry as a whole. What I see far too often is that clients are not getting what they pay for. The "industrialization" of personal injury can be a good or bad thing, dependent upon the client's expectations. What I see is that 33% is 33% and 40% is 40%. Generally, the client is going to pay the same "percentage" regardless of whether there attorney practices as an "industrialist" or chooses to practice a "profession". The problem is that advertising does not communicate the approach taken by the attorney. Is the attorney an executive business person or a lawyer? There is a difference and potential clients need to know.
