We are excited to announce that the Diamond Logistics Center in Baltimore, MD achieved #LEED Gold certification! The design team worked diligently together to produce a sustainable warehouse design while maintaining functionality. To conserve water usage, low-flow toilets and fixtures were installed in remote restrooms and the spec office is achieving 41.92% water savings when compared to baseline building design. TSP worked with the architect to select more environmentally friendly materials; this process included collecting over 20 EPDs and 20 HPDs, which is exceptional for a warehouse design. Low-VOC flooring, insulation, and ceiling materials were selected to improve indoor air quality. Over 40% of the cost of total materials included recycled content. The team opted to include slag and fly ash in several of the concrete mixes which reduces water use in construction and repurposes hazardous waste that would otherwise sit in a landfill. Congratulations to the project team on this great achievement!?ARCO Design/Build

TSP enjoyed a heartwarming night of creativity and philanthropy at the Steelcase Showroom! It was so special to get crafty and make encouraging cards for kids spending their birthdays in the hospital in partnership with The Confetti Foundation. Huge thanks to Designtex, Formica Group North America, and Steelcase for hosting such a fun and meaningful event!

TSP recognizes that each of our team members brings unique and important perspectives to our firm! This is why we believe in the power of sharing information and hold weekly “Education Sessions” internally. Team members present on a topic that they feel will benefit future projects and the team as a whole. Recently, David Mazzocco LEED AP and Marina Battle Rullo from our Sustainability Team presented on the One Planet Living? framework, created by Bioregional. Team members learned that this is a flexible framework (not prescriptive) that can be applied to personal projects, large scale developments, and anything in between. The 10 key principles of OPL cover all aspects of social, environmental and economic sustainability and can be used in tandem with other rating systems that we frequently pursue, such as #LEED or #WELL. We plan to explore implementation of this framework in future projects, so stay tuned!

To close out our 3-part blog series on biophilic design, Collin Robinson gets into the nitty-gritty of light and space! In our own Philadelphia office, we faced the benefit and challenge of daylight head on and didn't rest until we had created a comfortable environment for all occupants. Thank you to all who attended our webinar today on biophilic design! As we learned through our discussion, biophilia is more than just plants. It can be found in the shapes, patterns, materials, and forms we incorporate in the built environment. Check out the second post in our blog series which covers how materials can bring nature inside: https://lnkd.in/eNjX3bbs

TSP was thrilled to present alongside the Maryland Aviation Administration to a talented group of high school students on Aviation Day during Engineers Week! This week isn’t just about celebrating past accomplishments, it’s about inspiring the next generation of engineers. We must encourage students, young professionals, and even ourselves to keep pushing the limits of innovation, curiosity, and creativity. From fuel-efficient aircraft to sustainable air travel, the future is bright.
