Congratulations to our namesake Shaquille O’Neal for being named Humanitarian Of The Year at the 2024 Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards hosted by the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Shaquille is one of the world‘s most successful athletes, turn businessman who’s accomplishments both on and off the court have translated into a highly sought after global brand. O’Neill, who has a PhD in Leadership and Education, established the Shaquille O’Neal foundation which provides resources for underserved youth and proudly supports the Boys & Girls Clubs and Communities In Schools. Shaquille continues to impact the lives of youth with his latest project a new $20+ million dollar youth complex being constructed in Northeast Las Vegas in partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada and Communities In Schools of Nevada. Our annual Shaq-to-School event was a huge success! This carnival-themed celebration provided several hundred children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Nevada and Communities In Schools, Nevada with essential school supplies to kickstart their academic year. The day was filled with laughter, excitement, and joy as kids enjoyed games, delicious food, and endless fun. It was heartwarming to see the smiles on their faces and the community coming together to support our youth. A special thank you to our amazing vendors EyeCare4Kids, Clark County, Anthem, Inc., Future Smiles, LVMPD Office of Community Engagement & Northeast Area Command, your partnership made this event truly unforgettable for all the children involved.

At our July 11th press conference, we announced the upcoming construction of a new Boys & Girls Club/CIS Alumni Facility. This state-of-the-art center will provide essential services to under-resourced children in our community, helping them achieve their full potential. This has been a passion project for our namesake Shaquille O'Neal and Perry Rogers, SONF Treasurer. Through a joint partnership, the clubhouse will provide youth in grades PK-12 with the academic, social emotional, recreational, and tech resources needed for youth development. The CIS Alumni Center believed to be the first in the nation, will serve young adults ages 18-24 to prepare for college and/or career readiness. The site will also include space for other community partners to have outreach offices to provide needed resources to students and their families.
