How do you create $5 million in enterprise value when leasing a $10 million piece of equipment compared to conventional lending? A fair market value (FMV) equipment lease, which qualifies as an operating lease, is?a financial agreement that gives the lessee the option to purchase an asset at the end of the lease term for its current fair market value. They can also return the equipment to the lessor or renew the lease. The PDF example below for a $10 million piece of equipment financed over 5 years highlights how a FMV lease can save you a lot vs a bank. Here’s why FMV leases might be a great fit for you: - Preserve capital and maximize financial optionality for high growth, PE-backed firms. - Looking to deploy capital into areas that provide higher returns. - Equipment is not on the company’s balance sheet. - Need funding from $1M to $200M per project. - Getting close to loan covenant thresholds. - Need to upgrade your equipment often. - Lower monthly lease cost vs a bank. FMV leases from us will typically have a meaningfully lower monthly lease cost than banks because of our significantly higher residual values. Higher residuals mean less money borrowed. This quickly negates the cost of capital advantage a bank has.
