Inspired by the notion of Tikkun Olam, we established The Segal Family Foundation in order to heal, repair, and transform the world, through our support of numerous civic and community organizations. Since inception, the Foundation has supported meaningful causes centered on human kindness, economic and social justice. Partnering with organizations both large and small, we focus on enabling innovative programs, sparking new organizational collaboration and helping to build capacity. With a significant portion of our efforts focused in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, we aim to make a meaningful impact in a community that’s dear to our hearts.

Such a memorable day! The day after the Peace Prize Ceremony, the Nobel Peace Prize Exhibition WOMAN – LIFE – FREEDOM was officially opened by Narges Mohammadi’s family??? Her children, Kiana and Ali, chanted ‘Zan, Zendegi, Azadi’ (Woman, Life, Freedom) as they opened the exhibition about their mother and the women fighting for freedom and human rights in Iran. ?If she was present here, she would still be the voice of all prisoners. Narges always puts others before herself?, Narges Mohammadi’s husband Taghi Rahmani said on stage. Also present at the exhibition opening was 2003 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi who have worked alongside Narges in the organisation Defenders of Human Rights Center. Exactly one month ago, we had the honor of welcoming the Obama Foundation to the Latino Community Center and opening up our space for their legislative breakfast. It meant so much to have The Obama Foundation and elected officials at the LCC so we could elevate our community. Rosamaria, an Obama Leader, was also asked to speak that evening for a special dinner at Cafe Momentum. Rosamaria was able to share her story and elevate the needs of Founders and Executive Directors of color in our region! A big thanks to the Segal Family Foundation for coordinating the day and for the amazing organizations we got to spend the day with! Austin Davis! "The PCCD serves as the justice planning and policymaking agency for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. By bringing together a wide range of experts in the fields of criminal and juvenile justice, victim services, and related professions, PCCD finds and implements violence prevention solutions. As Chairman, Lieutenant Governor Davis will work to invest in services for Pennsylvania’s youth and violence prevention initiatives and will help drive investment into communities that have been left behind for far too long."
