I’m happy to share that I started a new position as Admissions Counselor at The University of Texas at Austin! I'm so honored to be back on the Forty Acres and counseling prospective students in our admissions process. Over the last four weeks, I've learned more about freshman, transfer, and international admissions than I could ever imagine. I can't wait to see what else the future brings while at the Admissions Welcome Center!

A lot to reflect on in the past year! After graduating from UW-Madison, I have received my OPT and the opportunity to work in the United States for a year post graduating. I was very thrilled when I have received the Pretreatment Program Assistant position at Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District. In addition with working at MMSD, I have also worked as a Banquet Houseperson at the Madison Concourse Hotel. I am grateful for both of these experiences as I am positive they will help me with all of future job opportunities. Onwards, I am happy to announce that I will be moving to Milan, Italy to pursue a two-year Master of Science in Urban Planning and Policy Design at Politecnico di Milano ! I would like to thank my family, friends and coworkers for all of the support provided in this transition. I'm looking forward to going back to school and learning about a field of work that I have been interested in for many years! Andiamo!

I’m truly grateful for the experience I had at the SHPETINAS Summit on February 21. It was a chance to connect with so many inspiring people, learn from incredible speakers, and really reflect on the future ??. A special thank you to the panelists — Karen Santos, Suzanna Valdez Wolfe, SHPE CEO, Juanita Velez, and Lisa Guadalupe Clarke. It was amazing to witness such powerful women from different walks of life come together and share their journeys??. You’ve truly shown what’s possible when we persevere, and I feel so fortunate to have heard from you all. A quote that resonated with me was, “Every setback is a set up.” This has truly shifted my mindset, helping me see challenges as opportunities for growth??. I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the SHPE Georgia Professional Chapter for organizing such an incredible event and to the sponsors Trane, Microsoft, Burns & McDonnell, Delta Air Lines, and Martin Marietta. Thank you for believing in our community and making this event possible. Your hard work and dedication made this summit unforgettable ????. This summit was a reminder to me of the importance of community, learning, and growth. I left with a renewed sense of purpose and one day, I hope to give back in the same way and inspire others just as I’ve been inspired??.

I am excited to share that I hosted my first event as the Director of Diversity, alongside the Director of Wellness from Student Government. The event provided a unique opportunity to connect, engage, and creatively express our identities! The main activity involved painting mugs and canvases, but not just any design! Students were encouraged to paint elements that represent their identities and who they are as individuals, bringing diversity into a fun, artistic expression. Various diversity organizations were invited to table at the event to show students the opportunities and resources available to them on campus! #DiversityAndWellness #UTampa?
