The Salvation Army is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Our message is based on the Bible, our ministry is motivated by the love of God, and our mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ as we meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Every program we offer is rooted in our passion to serve God by serving the lost, the vulnerable, the needy, the poor, the hurting, the helpless, and the hopeless.
Material and spiritual support is our standard - social services delivered with compassion is our model - anyone in need is our prerequisite. Eighty-two cents of every dollar we raise supports our various programs. We are a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, and contributions are deductible for Federal Income Tax Purposes to the extent permitted under Section 170(b)(2) for corporations.

Sinclair today announced a partnership with The Salvation Army to launch Sinclair Cares: From Homeless to Hope, a nationwide initiative dedicated to raising awareness about homelessness. With financial instability on the rise and many Americans just one paycheck away from crisis, Sinclair Cares: From Homeless to Hope aims to shed light on the many faces of homelessness?and highlight solutions that offer hope and stability.? ? As part of the effort, Sinclair will produce content to air within its newscasts throughout the campaign, which runs from March 17- March 23.? Sinclair stations will also air a 30-minute special on March 22 and 23 (airing on stations’ websites on March 19) that delves into the realities of homelessness across the country, told through the experiences of individuals and families impacted by housing insecurity.? It's only been a week since the Midland Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) Summit kicked-off at Camp Mihaska in Bourbon, Missouri. Mid-training, Missouri and Southern Illinois experienced tornadoes and severe storms, which enabled the newest volunteers to gain some immediate field experience.
