On March 1st, 2025, we hosted our "All Things New" Women's Conference at The Salvation Army Nashville Citadel . Women from our programs, other Salvation Army Churches in the area, and our staff came together to share a time of reflection and learning on 2 Corinthians and how Jesus can make all things new. There were many inspirational speakers, songs, and fun activities for our guests. We look forward to more events in the future for our neighbors to come together and strengthen their relationships with Jesus and each other!

Five years ago today, Nashville awoke to devastation. However, quickly thereafter, the helpers appeared to provide assistance and support to the community. It was an honor and a privilege to serve alongside so many other organizations and volunteers in the immediate aftermath of the tornado to help provide the meals, hugs, and prayers that our neighbors needed in those days and weeks following. Today, our Emergency Disaster Services team delivered 150 meals to residents stranded by floodwaters in Leslie County, KY. With the help of Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources officers, meals were ferried by boat to those in need. Volunteers braved sub freezing temperatures to bring hot meals to the water’s edge along the Hal Rodgers Parkway, where floodwaters have persisted since last weekend’s storm. The Salvation Army is here to serve for as long as we’re needed, bringing hope and help to our neighbors in Southeast Kentucky. #HopeIsOnTheWay

The Salvation Army in Nashville is deploying a local team and mobile feeding unit to assist with the response and recovery efforts in Perry and Polk County Kentucky. Capt. Roger Galabeas, from our South Corps, and Sgt. George Keith, from our Murfreesboro Corps, are headed to Kentucky today to be ready to begin serving hot meals to the community tomorrow. They also stand ready to offer emotional and spiritual care to all in the community – whether survivor, first responder, volunteer, or community member. We know that someone’s home doesn’t have to sustain damage for them to feel the effects of the disaster, and sometimes an ear to listen, arms to hug, and heads bowed in prayer are just as crucial to individuals’ recovery as any other service we can provide.
