We just celebrated three remarkable individuals—Richard (Dick) Clark, Rick Osgood, and Mary Theroux—who have received The Salvation Army’s Life Membership award for their unmatched service to San Francisco. This isn't an award for just anyone; it’s the highest recognition The Salvation Army bestows on its Advisory Board members, requiring at least 15 years of service and a demonstration of exceptional commitment. These honorees have gone above and beyond. Their dedication is not just about showing up—it's about transforming lives: ?? Dick Clark, with 41 years of service, has inspired generations of Advisory Board members, touched the lives of seniors with his music, and played a key role in The Way Out initiative, helping individuals find their footing in the workforce. ?? Rick Osgood helped reshape underserved areas of San Francisco through the acquisition of the Bayview Impact Center and the creation of the Culinary Training Academy, providing critical job training to those in need. His 21 years of vision and financial support are driving tangible change. ?? Mary Theroux’s leadership and institutional knowledge guided The Salvation Army through decades of transition. Her vision helped launch The Way Out initiative, a critical effort in addressing homelessness and creating new opportunities for San Francisco’s most vulnerable. These are not just volunteers—they are change makers whose work has a lasting impact on our city. We need more leaders like them to step forward and support this life-changing mission. #SalvationArmy #TheWayOut #SanFrancisco #CommunityLeaders #Leadership #Changemakers #AdvisoryBoard #Service

It’s International Youth Day! Today, we celebrate the incredible potential of young people everywhere. At The Salvation Army of San Francisco, we’re dedicated to nurturing that potential through programs that balance learning with fun. Our after school program is a place where students can continue to grow even after the school bell rings. With academic support and engaging activities, we’re creating an environment that enriches their minds while letting them unwind and enjoy themselves. And when summer rolls around, our summer camp ensures that the learning and adventure continue. These experiences keep young minds active, fresh, and full of curiosity, even when school is out. Let’s keep empowering our youth—because investing in them means investing in a brighter future for us all. ?? #InternationalYouthDay #TheSalvationArmy #YouthEmpowerment #CommunitySupport #SanFrancisco

There was love in the air at The Salvation Army’s 20th Annual Flower Power event at the Design Center Galleria. An impressive turnout of supporters, all united by a common cause—ending homelessness—made the atmosphere electric. Attendees enjoyed an interactive floral display by Jun Pinon, heartfelt speeches, and a dance party by Adam Swig’s Value Culture to round out the evening. ? Mayor London Breed spoke to the sold-out crowd about the importance of The Salvation Army’s homeless initiative, The Way Out. Cammy Blackstone, AR&T’s Director of External Affairs, was honored with the Woman of Dedication. Also in attendance were Supervisors Ahsha Safaí and Matt Dorsey who presented the Army with a certificate honoring the organization’s dedication and 20th annual Flower Power. ? A record $600,000 was raised. The donations will play a crucial role in The Salvation Army’s homelessness initiative, The Way Out. #TheSalvationArmy #SalvationArmySF #FlowerPower #FlowerPower2024 #FP24 #community

Recovery is possible! Meet Garret Collard. Garret came to the Joseph McFee Center in August of 2023 after completing a 180-treatment program with The Salvation Army. Since then, Garret has continued to excel in his recovery and his life. While working as a personal trainer at FITNESS SF Garret enrolled at City College of San Francisco and completed his associate degree in June of 2024. Garret has since been accepted to San Francisco State University where he intends to complete his undergraduate studies. Garret attributes his ongoing success to recovery community at JMC and his relationship with Jesus Christ. #SalvationArmySF #TheWayOutSF #SF #recovery #graduation #SFSU
