In an exclusive High Center member session, Rachel—TV personality, TEDx speaker, and author of “Relatable: How to Connect with Anyone Anywhere”—delivered powerful insights on the cost of disconnection in the workplace: loneliness, anxiety, low job satisfaction, decreased productivity, and increased turnover. She reminded us that relatability is a leadership skill—the ability to connect with, communicate with, and inspire others. Last month, the High Center hosted an On the Road event on developing a Board of Directors. “We welcomed more than 100 business leaders to the High Center’s inaugural event in the Capital Region. The subject of corporate governance is a dry topic; however, the voice and detail provided by the case of HB McClure’s Board — Circa 2007 — helped open the eyes of many,” said John Morefield, Managing Director of the High Center, Capital Region. Attendees learned about the impact a board of directors can have using the case study method detailing HB McClure (2002–2007) and heard from panelists Bob Whalen, CEO of HB Global, LLC., John Dame, founder of Dame Leadership, and moderator Dave Schankweiler, founder and former owner of the Central Penn Business Journal. Below are answers to some frequently asked questions regarding the Forum: 🚙 Where should I park?  Complimentary parking is provided at the Penn Square Garage (38 S. Duke Street, Lancaster, PA 17603) and the Prince Street Garage (111 N. Prince Street, Lancaster, PA 17602).  Additional paid parking can be found nearby at the Central Garage (29 W. Vine Street, Lancaster, PA 17603) or on the street. ✋What should I bring? Your Forum lanyard badge is required for entry into the High Center Business Forum and needs to be on you at all times. 🚫Is there a bag policy?  Due to the enhanced security measures at this year’s High Center Business Forum, backpacks, laptop bags, briefcases, coats, and suitcases are not permitted. Small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap, are permitted into the venue along with either a clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag that does not exceed 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches. Additionally, the following items are also not permitted in Freedom Hall during the keynote and dinner: ◾ Weapons of any kind, including firearms, knives, and mace/pepper spray/e-cigarettes ◾ Any outside food, beverages, and alcohol ◾ Laptop computers, iPads, tablets, camcorders, video or audio recorders or tripods ◾  Any other items determined to be a potential safety hazard 👉 Please note that business attire is encouraged.
