It was a rainy start to our Monday meeting on St. Patrick’s Day! ?? This week at the Rotary Club of Fresno we welcomed Alan Pitts - Vice President of the San Joaquin Business Unit at Chevron. Alan provided our club on the future of gas, oil, and energy in California. We welcomed new member Kathryn Wilbur - Executive Director of RH Community Builders. Katie is also a 12 year counselor and director Camp Royal. Elliott Balch - President & CEO of Downtown Fresno Partnership was recognized for the upcoming State of Downtown event coming up in April. ?? ?? A great day of fellowship and service at the club!

Earlier this week, we held our annual Public Safety Heroes Awards luncheon. This meeting is a very special one and we are honored to host it every year! Congratulations to the Fresno Fire Department Firefighter Matt Rau, Fresno County Sheriff's Office Deputy Robert Vasquez, CHP - Fresno Officer Abraham Santos and Fresno Police Department Officer Brandon Lyon. A monumental day for our community and Golden Charter Academy as club member Robert Golden and his team broke ground on a $26.8M State-of-the-Art educational facility in Fresno. Hardwork, determination, and believing we can and will do better for our community, is why we are here today. #BeGolden

Today the Rotary Club of Fresno welcomed John Kabateck, California State Director for the National Federation of Independent Business. John’s message about representing their members’ interests on the most pressing small business issues, such as taxes, healthcare, and regulations was spot on! Small businesses are the backbone of this great country. Dave Gilmore kicked off the meeting singing Happy Birthday to all of our February and March Rotarians. Kathy Laird rang the bell in support of the Valley Center for the Blind’s Glow Golf Tournament coming up on March 13th. Nik Redmond, CFP? rang the bell in support of his son’s recent basketball success and Lucas Ross rang the bell celebrating the birth of his third child. Our community projects committee awarded a $3,300 grant to Cen Cal Sports and David Allumbaugh took home today’s raffle. We’ll see you next week for Public Safety Heroes!

The Rotary Club of Fresno was well represented today at the Marjaree Mason Center grand opening event. This place is inspiring and much needed for our community. A HUGE congratulations to Nicole Linder and her team on this tremendous effort. We are fortunate to play a smart part in it!

Todd was able to provide our members and guests with updates and future plans for the “Miracle on The Hill.” We rang the ?? for Rotary After Hours and two members were recognized. Vanna In of Hope Now For Youth asked us to Save the Date for the Hope Now 32nd annual banquet. Robert Golden of Golden Charter Academy updated the club on their ground breaking today and upcoming Meet the Moment event! We welcomed (2) new club members - Jared Holaday, Operations Manager at Portfolio Advisors and Tania Keiser, Founder & CEO of Cypress Independent Living Services.
