Introducing "Dealing with Election Misinformation: A Guidebook for Election Officials", a product of The Caltech 2024 Election Integrity Project. This research is led by Michael Alvarez, Founding Co-Director of The Ronald and Maxine Linde Center for Science, Society, and Policy (LCSSP), who provides an easily digestible video overview of this work at the link below, as part of his "Office Hours" webinar and podcast series. We encourage election officials, other election community stakeholders, and all interested parties to review, share, and - most importantly - put this important guidance to use over the coming days and weeks of this U.S. election cycle. This work has been made possible through collaboration with Betsy Sinclair (Washington University in St. Louis), Sander van der Linden (University of Cambridge), and Mitchell Linegar (Caltech). Stay tuned for more updates on this work.
We are excited to announce the release of our Dealing with Misinformation guidelines, a product of the research conducted at Caltech through our Caltech 2024 Election Integrity Project. Our conversations with election officials and stakeholders, now available in our Office Hours webinar and podcast, have shed light on election rumors and misinformation surrounding the 2024 presidential election. In light of the current surge in misinformation during this crucial election cycle, I have prepared a video summarizing our research and offering guidance for election officials and stakeholders navigating these challenges. Updates will also be posted on our website as they become available: https://lnkd.in/g3hYys2f This initiative has been made possible through collaboration with Betsy Sinclair, Sander van der Linden, and Mitchell Linegar, who have dedicated extensive hours to ensure these guidelines reach the elections community. Stay tuned for more updates!
