We’re thrilled to announce that Tremco CPG Inc. will launch the #RisingStars program in Cleveland, OH on September 17th! Officially unveiled in May, this initiative was celebrated with a two-day event in collaboration with Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District, Greater Cleveland Career Consortium and Youth Opportunities Unlimited. The Rising Stars program focuses on providing hands-on training, diverse skill-building opportunities, and improved resource access for emerging professionals in the #construction trade. We are proud to support and develop the future leaders of our industry!

We are proud to spotlight Grayson Jordan and his firm Paul A. Castrucci, Architects, as vital partners in the Rising Stars Program. Grayson actively contributes as a guest teacher and lecturer, sharing his expertise with aspiring architects and construction professionals. The #RisingStars Program holds significant value for Grayson and his team. They are committed to hiring Rising Star graduates for their summer internship program, which not only provides hands-on experience but also brings fresh insights and perspectives to the firm. Grayson’s dedication to expanding the talent pool for the construction industry is commendable. He believes that by engaging with talented young individuals through the Rising Stars Program, they can help nurture the next generation of architects, engineers and construction professionals. This recognition highlights the incredible impact the Rising Stars Program has made in empowering underrepresented youth and fostering a strong, diverse workforce in the construction industry. Currently active in five U.S. cities, our program provides hands-on training, mentorship and career support to bridge the skills gap and create sustainable opportunities. A special shoutout to our Founding Director David Hutchinson for his vision and dedication in establishing this transformative initiative. His leadership has been instrumental in helping Rising Stars create pathways for success while addressing critical labor shortages in construction. New Community Career & Technical Institute has warmly welcomed the Rising Stars Program into its Building Trades Specialist classroom, providing a unique opportunity for students to interact with industry representatives. This partnership allows students to scout new and upcoming talent while gaining valuable insights into the construction industry. Rising Stars offers the Building Trades Specialist students invaluable real-world exposure and connects them to potential employers. Meet Alisha Soslow Harrington, interim managing director at Browning the Green Space and a strategic partner for the #RisingStars Program! Through Browning the Green Space’s "Achieve Green" program, Alisha and her team work to open doors for Rising Stars graduates, helping them access training pathways into clean energy careers within the green construction sector. Achieve Green ensures that young people from underrepresented backgrounds not only learn about the possibilities within green careers but also gain tiered engagement and learning pathways that empower them to see how their interests, skills and goals align with this growing field. We’re incredibly thankful for the commitment Alisha and Browning the Green Space bring to empowering the next generation of leaders in sustainable construction!

Let the Ice Box Challenge begin! ?? November marks the kickoff of Rising Stars’ annual Ice Box Challenge, and we couldn’t be more excited! This year, our Rising Stars cohorts are facing off in a friendly competition—and we’re ready to see some serious teamwork and creativity shine. Boston is the first to launch the challenge, starting today! Each cohort will push their skills and ideas to the max as they work together to tackle unique projects, learn from one another and grow in the process. The competition wraps up in mid-December, and we can’t wait to see which city will come out on top! Join us in welcoming Colleen Andrews to the Rising Stars team ???? As our new Achieve Green program manager, Colleen will lead the charge in growing this Massachusetts-funded workforce development initiative. A big part of her role will focus on building contractor and employer relationships and creating job opportunities for our graduates. A Quincy native, Colleen is excited to be back in Boston working with her community. With a background in conservation from her time in Ithaca, NY, and Homestead, FL, she’s an outdoor enthusiast who loves hiking, book club reads, painting and exploring local breweries. We’re excited to welcome her as our first full-time program employee and look forward to the incredible growth she’ll bring to Achieve Green.
