  • Its great to work with other organizations that are committed to serving our community! Thank you Empower CDC for your willing hearts and meaningful partnership.

Recently, we volunteered with The Restoration Team to assist in repairing a Houston resident’s home after the damages caused by Hurricane Beryl. With TRT leading the restoration efforts, we contributed by helping with exterior painting. Their guidance and dedication made the experience both impactful and rewarding. Honored to support this effort in rebuilding our community. #EmpowerCDC #CommunitySupport

?? AMERICORPS MONDAY ?? Shaneka Jones started a term of service this fall, serving as an AmeriCorps Supply & Logistics Coordinator with SBP’s partner, The Restoration Team. Shaneka applied to become an SBP AmeriCorps member after hearing about our work in Houston and decided she wanted to support disaster survivors. In her role, she helps coordinate supplies and logistics to ensure that rebuild crews have everything they need to work efficiently. Shaneka says that she’s inspired by people's ability to persevere with strength and positivity after having their homes damaged by a disaster. She shares, “The only way for me to make sense of people and everything they’re made of is to see them as a house themselves—built from their thank-yous, their perseverance, and the things that stick.”

  • Today we celebrate the 6 year work anniversary of Bob Withers ! Bob joined us officially on 2019, it had been volunteering and joined us in retirement for what he thought was going to be a temporary job! 7 titles later and he is still sharing his wisdom and joy with us! Bob Withers serves as our business manager, and is usually in the background and making things work smoother! we certainly wouldn't be this far along without his guidance, and professional trailer backing -up! thanks Bob!

  • Last night The Restoration Team celebrated a great year with our Staff, Board members and "crew" Volunteers. These incredible people are who puts the "T" in Restoration Team. Every day, every week for the last 7 years these people have poured their love and compassion into our community! Thank you!

  • Yesterday The Restoration Team had the pleasure of being at Pines Presbyterian Thankfulness lunch. As a partner ministry the support from Pines Pres. helps move our mission forward. They are a caring and supportive congregation helping house volunteers, provide meals, prayers and so much more. Thank you to Andy Gans and John Work for your leadership and support at Pines! The Restoration Team was founded by faith partners, and continues to be supported by the faith community. We aim to make it easy for churches to walk alongside their vulnerable neighbors in need of home repair.

  • A week ago we had the pleasure of hosting so many friends to our Pints for a purpose event! Thank you to everyone who showed up, donated, and supported the evening. This event helps kick off our year end giving campaign, where we look forward to the next year! 2024 has been quite eventful, and we wouldn't have been able to assist so many families without you! 2025 we are looking forward to a year with no disasters, but bringing families home to safe, and healthy homes! Our goal is to make meaningful repairs for at least 30 families! To do that we need to raise just over $900,000. Can you help us? https://lnkd.in/dwQZUgS4
