Sustaining an upward trend in student achievement is often a result of working with The Rensselaerville Institute School Turnaround Program.?An example of this is Reinhardt Holm Elementary in Escambia County, Florida. Before Escambia County decided to have us work with their low performing schools, Holm Elementary had a history of low student achievement and was slated to be taken over by the Florida Department of Education.?After working with The Rensselaerville Institute, the school’s achievement level rose to a C which was maintained through COVID. After our partnership ended in 2022, Principal Terri Fina and her leadership team were committed to continuing the STA 6 strategies implemented during their work with The Rensselaerville Institute School Turnaround Program.?Holm’s scores have not decreased since 2021-2022 and, for the 2023-2024 school year, Reinhardt Holm elementary achieved an “A” from the Florida Department of Education.?Kudos to Terri Fina and her amazing team for sustaining student achievement! The Rensselaerville Institute, School Turnaround, just completed our Assessment and Learning Conference attended by principals and school teams from Hawaii.?We measure our success by takeaways shared by attending principals and the results they get using our 6 strategies. More than 70% of our schools hit school targets in their first year working with us. Here are some quotes from our school leaders: “More than a takeaway, it is my own personal reflection that takes place at the conference that I value most. It helps set me up for my plan of action for the following school year.” “When you are committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results.” We must be fully committed to our purpose to get the results we seek.
