The Redeemer's School

It is hard to imagine that we are celebrating our 10th anniversary, but then we are reminded of the growth we have experienced, the students and families that we have met, and the lessons the Lord has taught us along the way. The Redeemer’s School was born when the Lord placed an idea on the hearts of the founding Redeemer Church leadership to create an urban, Christian school that would target the unique needs of families in the surrounding neighborhoods. Our aim is to instill, through a biblical worldview, the importance of being mindful, thoughtful, productive members of the community. We praise God for the generosity of our donors, the tireless work of our staff, and the unselfish support of Redeemer Church. Without such, a decade of ministry to the children of Jackson and their families would not have been possible. Big congratulations to our team of fourth graders who proudly represented The Redeemer's School at the annual C3 Jr Coding Invitational at the Mississippi Children's Museum! Alongside 14 other teams, they designed an obstacle course and programmed a robot to navigate through it—performing tricks and impressing the judges. With guidance from our amazing CSpire mentor, they quickly grasped the coding and robotics concepts, successfully completing the challenge. We’re so proud of their hard work and teamwork! Meet René Menogan, our new K4 Assistant Teacher! Mrs. Menogan was born in Denver but spent her summers and high school years in New Orleans. She is now a retired nurse and has 8 grandchildren! Mrs. Menogan says her favorite thing about teaching K4 is, “They dance, jump or just yell out loud when we do something new and fun. Seeing the world through their eyes is truly a gift from our Lord and I am grateful. We are so happy to have her as part of our family at TRS! Brandi Benjamin has held many roles with us over the years, but is now the School Office Manager! Originally from Chicago, Illinois, she considers Jackson her second home and has been here for many years. She says, "I believe it was God who sent me to TRS in 2018 as a parent searching for an intimate learning environment for my two daughters." She started working with us in 2019, and has been a floater, an assistant, Stem and Computer teacher, and the Librarian. She says her favorite thing about working here is, "our small family community that is filled with encouraging teammates. As well as our students' growth over the years. Although I am no longer in the classroom just watching our students succeed was and is the greatest motivator for me."
