I’d compare myself to others and fear that I didn’t measure up—that they had more, that they were better, more successful, or more deserving. These fears kept me stuck, second-guessing myself, and questioning my worth. But here’s the truth: once you let these fears go, it changes everything. You begin to see yourself for who you truly are—not through the distorted lens of comparison or expectations. You realize that your worth isn’t determined by someone else’s opinions or achievements. Through THE REAL Mental Health Foundation, I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many people who’ve faced similar fears. And one thing I’ve learned is that fear loses its grip when we take action, embrace vulnerability, and focus on our own path. If fear is driving your decisions, pause and ask yourself: ? A Lesson on Fear I’ve Learned Over Time ???? Life has a way of teaching us lessons in the most unexpected ways. One that has stuck with me is this: Fear rarely comes from what’s happening—it comes from what we think might happen. I’ve spent countless nights awake, not because of what did happen, but because of what I thought could. The weight of “what ifs” is far heavier than the reality of most situations. When challenges arise, my initial reaction may be shock or frustration, but I’ve learned to quickly shift into action and acceptance. ?? This shift—the ability to let go of fear and focus on what I can do—has made all the difference in how I approach life and work.
