We are also subject matter experts.” — Diana Chao, MBA, WAFF Youth Delegate We can’t talk about innovation in mental health without the voices of young people front and center. As the founder of Letters to Strangers, the largest global youth-run nonprofit, Diana shares how to ensure this happens authentically and inclusively. Heading to Boston today – Continuing the Mission and Honoring John Mannix https://lnkd.in/eR9bhqNk This is a picture from an event we did in Nantucket last summer. It was me Kevin Hines Marie Matterazzo Charles H. Finnie and John Mannix It was the last time I saw my friend John. We went to college together and we known each other for over 30 years. John was one of the first supporters of THE REAL and always believed in the mission. More than that, he was a great friend who cared deeply about helping others. I know he would be proud of the work we’re doing to make a difference in mental health. Heading to Boston today is bittersweet. The last two times I was there, John had organized events for THE REAL Mental Health Foundation. He understood that mental health affects everyone and wanted to be part of the solution. This time, part of the event I’ll be paying tribute to John. John’s absence is deeply felt, but his impact remains. This trip won’t be the same without him, but I’m looking forward to honoring him and pushing forward with the work he believed in—so that tragedies like his happen less.

Honoring A Special Group of Men from Around the World Leading the Way in Mental Health – Meet THE REAL Ambassadors https://www.thereal.care/ Mental health matters everywhere. And these men—from all over the world ?? —understand just how important it is. They’ve stepped up to be part of this mission and movement, helping to grow THE REAL Mental Health Foundation into a global force for connection, conversation, and change. What Do REAL Ambassadors Do? Every month, our ambassadors host THE REAL Walks in cities across the globe. These walks are about community, movement, and conversation—a chance to get outside, connect with others, and talk about whatever is on your mind. In a world where isolation and loneliness are far too common, these walks provide a simple yet powerful way to bring people together in a casual, low-pressure setting. Whether the topic is mental health, business, sports, or just enjoying time with others, it’s all part of the experience. Beyond the walks, our ambassadors also: ? Advocate for mental health awareness in their regions ? Help grow THE REAL movement by spreading the message ? Bring people together through events and local initiatives ? Encourage open conversations in business and personal life The Movement is Growing THE REAL isn’t just an idea—it’s a movement that’s spreading across the globe. And by the end of the year, we plan on having at least 100 ambassadors leading this charge in communities worldwide. To every one of our REAL Ambassadors—thank you. Your leadership, passion, and commitment are making a real impact, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have you as part of this journey. #MentalHealth #Community #Leadership #THEREAL #REALAmbassadors #GlobalMovement George Harrington Ryan Dermody Brian Hughes Mark Fujiwara Kevin Hines Kasper Wichmann ?? What I Know About YOU You’re reading this, which means one thing—you’re here. You’re alive. You’re breathing. I also know something else: you’ve faced challenges. How do I know? Because every human has. No one gets through life without struggles. I know you’ve had good days and bad days. Wins and losses. Moments of joy and moments of pain. Because that’s what it means to be human. And I know that mental health affects you. It doesn’t matter where you live, what you look like, how much money you have (or don’t), what language you speak, or the color of your skin. Mental health doesn’t discriminate. It impacts every single one of us. In fact, it’s one of the few things that truly unites us. This is THE REAL. THE REAL is about acknowledging the truth—that we all have a story. That mental health isn’t just for “other people.” It’s for everyone. At THE REAL Mental Health Foundation, we’re building a global movement—one rooted in real conversations, real connections, and real change. Because no matter who you are or where you’re from, mental health is the common thread that connects us all. #TheREAL #MentalHealthMatters #WeAreAllHuman #Community #RealConversations THE REAL Mental Health Foundation Kevin Hines Margaret Hines Justine Mana Rachel (Duncan) Ochinegro Jen Libby, MSW, LCSW Kim K. THE REAL kommt nach München Deutschland! ???? #MentalHealth #TheREAL #Deutschland #Schweiz #?sterreich #Community Matthias M. From Sunny Atlanta to Snowy Michigan: THE REAL Walk & Meaningful Conversations at the University of Michigan What an incredible school the University of Michigan is! It’s been amazing to be here, meeting with students, faculty, and so many others who care deeply about mental health and the work we’re doing with THE REAL. Seeing a world-class institution like Michigan making mental health a priority is inspiring, and it’s clear that the conversations happening here are moving the needle in a meaningful way. Of course, no visit would be complete without a REAL Walk—this time through snowy Michigan! ?? Coming from sunny Atlanta, it was a bit of a change, but mental health doesn’t take a snow day. No matter where you are, the power of getting outside, moving, and having real conversations is universal. This trip has been a reminder that the momentum behind THE REAL is growing, and I couldn’t be more excited about the conversations and collaborations ahead. Thank you, Michigan, for the warm welcome—even in the cold! #MentalHealth #TheREAL #UniversityOfMichigan #TheREALWalk #Community #Leadership #SnowyMichigan
