Drug overdose deaths, more specifically opioid-involved deaths, have continued to rise in Indiana and impact people of all races, sexes, ages and locations. The drug epidemic, driven mainly by opioid-involved deaths, has evolved over the last decade in three distinct waves: an increase in prescription opioid-involved deaths, a spike in heroin-involved deaths and a surge in synthetic opioid-involved deaths primarily consisting of illicitly manufactured fentanyl. There is an immediate and dire need for intervention here. The nation’s drug overdose epidemic continues to grow and negatively impact families across the country. This epidemic, mainly driven by illicit fentanyl, fentanyl analogs, methamphetamine, and cocaine, has resulted in the deaths of more than 100,000 people from December 2020 to December 2021. Right in our own backyard, our Hoosier state, thousands of people and their families have been torn apart due to drug-related deaths and overdoses. This non-profit was founded on a hope for a better tomorrow. With the help of our generous donors, we will be able to change Indiana, step by step, one family at a time.
