???Bipartisan Bill Introduced to Expand Medicaid Buy-In for Working Adults with Disabilities ? A new bipartisan bill could help working adults with disabilities keep their Medicaid coverage past age 65! Representatives Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ) and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA) have reintroduced the Ensuring Access to Medicaid Buy-In Programs Act (H.R. 1598) to remove barriers that force individuals with disabilities to choose between working or losing critical healthcare services. ? ???Why It Matters: ??Medicaid buy-in allows working individuals with disabilities to earn above Medicaid limits while keeping essential long-term care services. ??Under current rules, eligibility ends at age 65, leaving many without coverage before qualifying for Social Security at age 67. ??This bill would close that gap—ensuring people don’t have to stop working to maintain necessary healthcare. ? ???Supported by ANCOR and disability advocates, this legislation is a step toward economic independence and healthcare security for adults with disabilities. ? ???Learn more and support the cause:??https://lnkd.in/eup6t4iw ? #DisabilityRights #MedicaidAccess #InclusiveWorkforce #HCBS

Medicaid funds the Federal Medical Assistance Percentage (FMAP) that supports over half the costs of ID/A services in Pennsylvania. Politicians have disagreed widely on the potential impact this would have on our services. The ENABLE Act (Enhancing ABLE to Lift Earnings Act) has been introduced in Congress with bipartisan support to expand and strengthen ABLE accounts—a crucial tool that helps individuals with disabilities save for the future without risking essential benefits. ? ???What would the ENABLE Act do? ??Allow more employers to contribute to ABLE accounts through payroll deductions ??Encourage long-term savings for individuals with disabilities ??Provide greater financial security and independence ? ABLE accounts have already changed lives by letting individuals with disabilities save beyond asset limits without jeopardizing access to SSI, Medicaid, and other benefits.
