MEMBER NEWS: Facial recognition from iProov used in UK trials of security at maritime ports DIACC member iProov has been testing facial recognition technology to speed up border checks at UK maritime ports, where passengers often stay inside their vehicles. Unlike airports, ports face unique challenges, especially with the upcoming EU Entry/Exit System (EES), which could cause long delays. The UK Home Office trials focused on matching passengers with their IDs without requiring them to step out. iProov sees this as a step toward seamless and secure travel, with digital identity playing a bigger role in the future.
