One of Posse's goals as an organization is to help top colleges and universities build more interactive campus environments so that they can be more welcoming for people from all?backgrounds. This month, new Scholars across the country gathered to celebrate their achievement at the annual Awards Ceremony. A key part of the program involves the Ainslie Alumni Achievement Award video that commemorates one outstanding alumni. The video presents a possible future for the Scholars, an example for what they can become as they realize their leadership capabilities. When we say #PosseAlumLead, we mean it. Take newly sworn in Illinois State Senator and Grinnell College alumna Graciela Guzmán for example. She is the first Posse alum to be elected to state senate. “I am humbled to be sworn in as the State Senator for the 20th District of Illinois,” said Senator Guzmán in the press release from the Illinois State Senate Democratic Caucus. “With the input of the community and advocates, I am looking forward to supporting an economy and government that works for all, not just the few.” Please join Posse in offering Senator Guzmán a hearty congratulations! #PosseLove

Each year, Posse holds fall events across the country to support the recruitment and training of the next generation of leaders. This year's annual Power of 10 fundraiser for Boston marked the milestone 25th anniversary and honored Career Program partner State Street, which has donated a total of $1.3 million to Posse Boston since its inception in 1999. #Posse #CareerPartner

This week marks the end of Posse's Dynamic Assessment Process, otherwise known as DAP. Over 17,000 students were nominated for 880 scholarships across Posse nation. New Scholars across the nation have received "the call" and learned that they have received a full-tuition, merit scholarship to a top college or university. Thank you to all of the people who make DAP happen - to the nominators, volunteers, the Posse staff, corporate partners and college and university partners - we could not recruit and train the next generation of leaders without your support and dedication.
