Access to nutritious food and sustainable farming knowledge can transform lives, especially for children growing up in food-insecure communities. In Malawi, Nourishing Minds, led by Nelson Kamoyo, is doing just that, teaching children how to grow and harvest organic crops while promoting food literacy and environmental stewardship. With support from The Pollination Project (TPP), this initiative has empowered young learners to take control of their nutrition, overcome agricultural challenges, and create a more food-secure future for themselves and their families. HOW WE WORK The Pollination Project Foundation provides seed funding ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 through a network of 65 grant advisors and five country coordinators. This participatory grantmaking approach empowers individuals to drive positive change in their communities. Besides financial aid, our Foundation supports grantees with fundraising guidance, capacity-building workshops, mindfulness retreats to prevent burnout, and resources for achieving tangible goals. WORKING WITh US FOR FUNDERS Foundations and donors can engage with us in two ways. First, we accept pass-through funding to channel resources to the most deserving hands on the ground, recognizing the fundamental importance of strengthening leadership on the ground to catalyze change. Our strategic partners nourish the front line leaders through TPP. Second, we serve as a top-of-the-funnel resource for larger funders, ensuring that exceptional changemakers and projects receive the attention they merit. After we collect reports from our most successful grantees, we offer connections to future funding opportunities. ***Fighting Preventable Blindness: The Impact of the Glaucoma Awareness Campaign in Nigeria*** Glaucoma is often called the "silent thief of sight", it progresses without symptoms until significant vision loss has already occurred. In Nigeria’s Ondo State, where public awareness remains critically low, Sodiq Adeniyi is leading a transformative effort to change that. With a seed grant from The Pollination Project, Sodiq launched the Glaucoma Awareness Campaign, ensuring that more people have access to vital eye health education and early detection services. The IMPACT of our SEEDGRANT: ?? 5,000+ individuals educated about glaucoma prevention ?? 500+ people received free eye screenings ?? 50+ individuals received essential anti-glaucoma medication For many, this initiative provided their first-ever opportunity to understand the importance of routine eye care, and in some cases, it was an intervention that helped save their vision. This project demonstrates the power of grassroots changemakers in driving meaningful public health interventions. At The Pollination Project, we are proud to support visionaries like Sodiq, who are making a tangible difference in their communities.
