World Introvert Day is observed on January 2 every year. It is a day committed to understanding and valuing the exceptional characteristics of introverted people. From Charles Darwin to Albert Einstein, some of the world’s most brilliant people have been introverts. Introverts aren't always shy! They simply restore their energy through alone time, rather than renewing their batteries by being around other people, like extroverts do. Famed psychiatrist Carl Jung first introduced this concept to the world in 1921. But it took another 90 years for the holiday to be introduced, by German psychologist Felicitas Heyne, who aimed to reduce the discrimination introverts face and highlight introverts' value.
